Shaykha safia shahid
I commend the dedication of Vibrant Scottish Mosques organisation to facilitate services for Muslim women. The growth and nurturing of Scottish Muslims is dependent on fulfilling the spiritual and religious needs of Muslim women. Women nurture the future generations of both men and women. If we neglect our women, we neglect our society. |
al-meezan
Al Meezan House is a busy and vibrant centre which has been founded and led mostly by women in order to serve the surrounding Muslim community. The centre is well established in offering a high standard of quality Islamic education and has been successful in its achievements.
Al Meezan has demonstrated that women can work and accomplish great feats in their service to the community. Given the platform and opportunity this is something that can be reflected and transferred to other areas of our community.
Mosques are the heart of our community and the centre point from which the whole Muslim community should be organised. The best mosques are those that benefit from the skills, abilities, passion and dedication of all members of their congregation, so that they can be truly representative of the community that they serve; young and old, male and female.
In our society today we face many challenges as Muslims from a personal level to a global one. One of the blessings our communities can greatly benefit from is our Mosques. They are safe havens and sanctuaries that offer advice, guidance and welcome places of worship.
The finest Mosques are not the ones with grandeur or opulence but ones that listen, involve and value the voice of others.
Vibrant Scottish Mosques is exactly how today’s Mosques, our Mosques should be.
